The ceremony, held on April 20th, 2024, at the G.D. Madgulkar Auditorium in Akurdi, Pimpari Chinchwad, Pune, was a celebration of Dr. Nanavare's remarkable contributions spanning over three decades.

Dr. Rajendra Tatu Nanavare, MBBS, TDD, DETRD, AFIH, FCCP, DHA, DPH, a distinguished Chest Physician, was recognized for his unwavering dedication to public health services and his profound commitment to Gandhian philosophy. With an illustrious career highlighted by 35 years of service at Asia's largest infectious hospital, Dr. Nanavare has left an indelible mark on the medical community.

His tenure as the Former Medical Superintendent of Group of TB Hospitals in Mumbai, coupled with his role as a faculty member for P.G. Diploma in Chest and TB, Tropical Medicine at CPS Parel Mumbai, underscores his expertise and leadership in the field. Dr. Nanavare's editorial contributions to the Indian Journal of TB and pivotal role in the National Bedaquiline pilot project exemplify his pioneering spirit and dedication to advancing medical research and treatment.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Nanavare is celebrated for his humanitarian endeavors, including his role as a clinical expert featured in numerous programs on National Doordarshan and his commitment to conducting biannual free medical camps in slums. His advocacy for cultural festivals and his recent recognition by the Government of India with the Bharat Bhushan Award further highlight his multifaceted contributions as a doctor and social worker.

Furthermore, he was awarded as the best Academician in the post-graduate category by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Maharashtra State on Doctor's Day in 2023. Finally, the Government of India bestowed upon him the prestigious Bharat Bhushan Award in 2024, further recognizing his exceptional contributions to society.
